Atomic Kitten: Atomic Kitten Album Review

Today I'll be reviewing "Atomic Kitten's'" self-titled album.  The album was released as the group's first album in the U.S. and consists of tracks from their first two albums, "Right Now" and "Feels So Good".  The album was released in 2003, before iTunes had all of their albums in its store like it does now.  Anyway here's my track by track review:

 1) It's OK!: The song was the first single from "Feels So Good".  It's a ballad about getting over an ex.  Great song.  8/10

 2) Be With You: This song was released as a double A-side single with "The Last Goodbye" from "Feels So Good".  It is an upbeat dance song with a little bit of a disco-esque vibe to it.  The song would later be included on the group's third album, "Ladies Night".  I'm still trying to like the song but it's kinda boring.  7/10

 3) The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling): The second single from "Feels So Good."  It was released as the first, and only, single from this album in the U.S.  It was used to promote the "Lizzie McGuire Movie" but it sadly didn't chart.  It did however get a lot of airplay on Radio Disney and its video was played a lot while the movie was in theaters.  10/10

 4) Feels So Good: The title track from "Feels So Good" as well as the unreleased fifth single from that album.  "Kylie Minogue" wrote and recorded a version of the song but decided to give it to "Atomic Kitten".  Glad she did because the song is fun to dance to.  10/10

 5) Walking on the Water: From the album "Feels So Good".  Great song that should've had a single release.  10/10

 6) Love Doesn't Have to Hurt: The fourth and final single from "Feels So Good".  Lyrically, musically, and vocally beautiful with a great video.  10/10

 7) Love Won't Wait: From the album "Feels So Good".  I'm not a fan of the song and wish it wasn't on the album.  I wish they had put the single version of "You Are" from "Right Now" on instead.  5/10

 8) Whole Again: The fifth single from "Right Now".  It was originally performed with "Kerry Katona" when she was still in the band but once she left it was re-recorded with "Jenny Frost".  The song was actually supposed to be the group's first single in the U.S. and even had a different video for the U.S. as well.  The release was cancelled due to the "September 11th attacks".  The U.S. version of the video was still shown in the U.K. though.  10/10

 9) The Last Goodbye: The third single from "Feels So Good".  This version is the single where "Liz" and "Natasha sing the first verse, "Jenny" and "Natasha" sing the second verse, and "Jenny" and "Liz" sing the last verse.  Love this song.  10/10

10) Right Now: The title track from their first album "Right Now".  The was the group's first single when the group was "Natasha", "Liz", and "Kerry" but once "Kerry" left "Jenny" re-recorded her vocals on the song.  The version that's on this album is the one with "Natasha", "Liz", and "Jenny".  I actually like that one better.  10/10

11) Eternal Flame: The 6th single from "Right Now".  The song is almost exactly the same as the video version except that instead of "Liz" singing "Is this burning, an eternal flame" in the second verse, it's sung by "Natasha".  Not complaining because both versions sound great and I love their version of the song.  It was originally performed by "The Bangles".  10/10

12) The Moment You Leave Me: From the album "Feels So Good".  It's not a bad song but after the last four songs being so awesome, this one is kinda just okay.  7/10

Sadly for "Atomic Kitten", the album failed to chart.  This would lead the girls to focus on their third album "Ladies Night".  I'm sad the album wasn't a success because it had a bunch of great songs.  My favorite songs on the album are: "The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling)", "Eternal Flame", "The Last Goodbye", "Feels So Good", "Love Doesn't Have to Hurt", "Walking on the Water", "Right Now", and "Whole Again".  Out of 120 points I give the album 107 which is 89%, a B+.

I know this review was short given that I had reviewed "Feels So Good" awhile ago and I apologize for that.  It was a long day today and it slipped my mind.  It means a lot to whomever reads this review or any of my other reviews.  I really appreciate it and thank you all.
