1) What You Need: The first and only single from the album. The song was on both "Tyler's" ep, "Let's Talk" and the "Songs from Instant Star Season 3" soundtrack. The version on the album sounds a little different from the version on the soundtrack. The song talks about a guy who is love with girl who wants to leave him but he doesn't want that because he loves her too much. It's a cute song. 10/10
2) Some Things Are Better Left Alone: This song seems to be a song about a relationship that's hit a standstill because one of them is afraid to say what's on their mind. I have to say I don't listen to the song that much but "Tyler's" vocals are amazing. 7/10
3) Talking Pictures: The title track that should've been a single! The song is about reminiscing about the good times that you had when you were younger. It's a song that tugs at your heartstrings a little bit. But like I said earlier, it should've been a single! 10/10
4) Happiness: This song is a ballad about happiness isn't always easy to find but it's something worth waiting for. The song is pretty good and the music pretty much stays the same throughout the whole song. 7/10
5) Say It's Not Over: Continuing with every odd number song being upbeat, "Say It's Not Over" is one of my favorites on the album to listen to. I'm ashamed to say that I'm not sure what the song is about. I know that's sad when I just said it's one of my favorites. 10/10
6) Sarah: Continuing with every even numbered song being a ballad (hehehe), "Sarah" is a piano ballad that "Tyler" wrote about a girl he used to date named "Sarah". The lyrics are about a guy saying he's nothing without his girlfriend who recently broke up with him. I don't listen to the song that much because I have a cousin named "Sarah" so it becomes a little awkward. 6/10
7) One Day Closer: Why do I like all the upbeat songs on this album?! The song seems to be a love song about waiting for a girl to come beck to you. I'm likely wrong but that's what I get from the song and I wish it was a single because it probably would've had a great video. 10/10
8) Meet You In the Middle: This ballad seems to be about seems to be about a girl who ran away from her home because she was hurting but no one saw that because she always hid it with a smile. It's a sad song but the music is a little too distracting. 6/10
9) Let's Talk: This is probably the only upbeat song on the record that I don't listen to. The song seems to be about trying to figure out how you fit "the mold" of business whether it be in the entertainment world or something else. I'm not really a fan of this song. 6/10
10) Sunlight: The album closer, which is a piano ballad about being in love with someone. Like all of the other songs on the album, "Tyler's" voice is awesome and it's a pretty good song. 6/10
While "Tyler Kyte" has not released a second album yet he has remained active in music touring with "Nick Rose" and his own band "Tyler Kyte and the Nice Guys." Also a demo song called "Hanging by a Thread" was leaked onto youtube back in 2013. Not sure whether it was recorded for "Talking Pictures" or if it was a song set for a second album that was never completed. Either way it's a great song that I wish got released and not leaked.
My favorite songs on the album are: "Say It's Not Over", "One Day Closer", "Talking Pictures" and "What You Need". Out of 100 point I give the album 78 points which is 78%, a C+.
Thank you for reading this review and if you haven't please check out "Tyler Kyte's" "Talking Pictures" album!
