LeAnn Rimes: This Woman Album Review

Today's album review will be of "LeAnn Rimes'" "This Woman".  The album was released in 2005 and was the follow-up to her "Twisted Angel" album.  The album also returned her to country music after going pop on "Twisted Angel".  Here is my track by track review:

 1) I Want to With You: In this song, the narrator talks about being nervous about love in previous relationships until she finds the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with.  The music starts off slow but the music picks up in once the chorus comes in.  7/10

 2) You Take Me Home: An upbeat song that musically sounds very similar to "LeAnn's" single "We Can" from "Legally Blonde".  The song is one of three songs on the album that "LeAnn" co-wrote and the song is about a how the narrator's boyfriend makes her feel that no matter where she is, he makes everywhere feel like home.  7/10

 3) Something's Gotta Give: The third single from the album.  The song talks about a woman who is reaching her 31st birthday and she thought she'd have a husband and kids but it hasn't happened because all she's been able to find is "Mr.Wrong".  We've all been there...  Anyway the video shows "LeAnn" portraying a woman trying to find "Mr.Right" but every date she finds is terrible.  Thankfully at the third verse, it seems she's found "Mr.Right".  The song is my favorite song on the album and it was the most successful single on the album peaking at number 2 on the "U.S. Hot Country Songs" charts.  This would lead the album to be more successful which although was great, it would lead "LeAnn's" next album "Whatever We Wanna" to not be released in the U.S.  10/10

 4) Won't Be Lonely Long: In this song "LeAnn" sings about being fed up with her boyfriend constantly leaving and while she'll be sad, she knows she "won't be lonely long."  I like it at first but it got boring real quick.  5/10

 5) Nothin' 'bout Love Makes Sense: The first single from the album.  The song talks about love can be confusing at times.  The music pretty much stays the same throughout the whole song, but it's a catchy song that's really good.  It peaked at number 5 on the U.S. Hot Country Songs" chart.  10/10

 6) Probably Wouldn't Be This Way: The second single from the album.  At first listen it seem to be a song about a break-up.  Sadly that's not the case.  The song is an acoustic ballad about the death of a lover.  The video is a little darker where "LeAnn" plays a woman being so sad about her husband that she almost drowns herself.  The song peaked at number 3 on the "U.S. Hot Country Songs" chart and it's an amazing song that "LeAnn" sings beautifully.  10/10

 7) The Weight of Love: This song is a piano ballad where the narrator sings about the highs and lows of love.  I don't listen to the song that much at all because I feel I've heard this kind of song before by other artists.  6/10

 8) With You: No this is not a cover of "Jessica Simpson's" song.  This is an upbeat song about how her biggest weakness is "living happily, ever afterly" with the one she loves.  It's a good song and also one of my favorites.  Wish it was a single.  10/10

 9) I Got It Bad: This song was used a promo for "NASCAR" which makes sense given that it feels like the perfect song to be played during a race.  I really like this song and wish that it had a video.  10/10

10) I Dare You: This song is cover that was originally performed by country group "SHeDAISY" for their album, "Sweet Right Here".  The song is a love song and I initially loved the song until I heard "SHeDAISY's" version and thought their version was way better than "LeAnn's" version.  It's still pretty good.  8/10

11) When This Woman Loves a Man: Like "You Take Me Home" and "I Got It Bad", "LeAnn" co-wrote this song.  Unlike those songs, this is a ballad.  I don't really listen to the song that much but it's an okay song.  6/10

12) Some People: The fourth and final single.  The song is a country ballad about how the narrator is lucky to have a love that so amazing because some people don't get that kind of relationship.  The video showed "LeAnn" and her then-husband "Dean Shermet" at a carnival being blissfully in love, keep in mind the video was shot 2006.  The song was the lowest charting single on the album peaking at number 34 on the "U.S. Hot Country Songs" chart.  A pop version of the song is featured on "LeAnn's" follow-up album, "Whatever We Wanna" and prefer that version but the song is still good.  10/10

The album was commercially a lot better than "LeAnn's" previous album, "Twisted Angel", but I still I like that album a little bit more.  My favorite songs on the album are "Something's Gotta Give", "I Got It Bad", "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way", "With You", "Nothin' bout Love Makes Sense", and "Some People".  Out of 120 points I give the album 99 points which is 82%, a B.  Just 1% lower than my score on "Twisted Angel".  I didn't expect that.

Thank you for reading this review.  I'm sorry for not giving much detail on the album but I was getting a little lazy and tried to do the best I could at short notice.  Please comment what you thought of this review.
