Kelly Clarkson:Thankful Album Review

I figured since I reviewed most of Kelly Clarkson's albums, it only seemed right to review her first album "Thankful".  I'll make this introduction short, so here's my track by track review:

1) The Trouble with Love Is: The fourth and final single from the album.  The song is an r&b ballad, which is much different from the music she sings now.  It was also released to promote the film "Love Actually", this is the third song I've reviewed that was a part of that movie.  While Kelly's vocals are great, the song gets a little boring after awhile.  7/10

2) Miss Independent: The second single from the album.  I already reviewed this song on my review for "Greatest Hits - Chapter One".  That being said, I wonder when Christina Aguilera's version of the song will be released since she had the song first.  10/10

3) Low: The third single from the album.  This song used to be favorite song on the album but these days I find it to be too similar to Avril Lavigne's "Losing Grip", probably because both songs were produced by Clif Magness.  The song talks about reflecting on a bad relationship and the video was pretty good.  9/10

4) Some Kind of Miracle: No this not a cover of the Girls Aloud song.  Just wanted throw that out there.  It is a r&b ballad but I feel it's kinda weak.  5/10

5) What's Up Lonely: Catchy after the first listen but then it gets boring after the second.  4/10

6) Just Missed the Train: This song is a cover.  The original version was sung by Danielle Brisebois.  The song is a beautiful ballad that almost became a single.  Sadly because "Low" and "The Trouble with Love Is" failed to gain much success, the single release was scrapped.  10/10

7) Beautiful Disaster: Like I said in my review of "Breakaway", I heard the live version from that album first so when i heard this version I was surprised.  The song should've been a single because it's perfect.  10/10

8) You Thought Wrong (featuring Tamyra Gray): This song is my favorite song on the album.  It's about how two women find out they're with the same guy and instead of fighting, they team up to make his life hell.  It was also supposed to be a single, but because her previous singles didn't do so well tits release was cancelled.  10/10

9) Thankful: The title track.  The lyrics are okay but the overall song is boring.  4/10

10) Anytime: This song wasn't supposed to be on the album.  It replaced one of two songs, "Trace of Gold" and "Today for Me", originally to be on the album.  The vocals are good but the song is the weakest on the album.  3/10

11) A Moment Like This: The first single from the album.  I already reviewed it on my review for "Greatest Hits - Chapter One".  Like "Anytime" this song wasn't supposed to be on the album but I'm kinda glad it was included.  9/10

12) Before Your Love: This song had a video and while the lyrics and her vocals are amazing, the overall song is boring.  4/10

In my opinion "Thankful" wasn't Kelly's strongest album, but then again she didn't have much time to record it.  My favorite songs on the album are: "You Thought Wrong (featuring Tamyra Gray)", "Beautiful Disaster", "Just Missed the Train", "Low", and "Miss Independent".  Out of 120 points I give the album 85 which is 70%, a C.  Thankfully Kelly has recorded better material over the years.  Thanks for reading my review!
