Play: Girl's Mind Album Review

Awhile back I reviewed Play's second album "Replay", today I'll be reviewing their greatest hits album, "Girl's Mind".  Here's my track by track review:

1) Us Against the World: The first single from their first album, the self-titled "Play".  The video was played a lot on Disney Channel and the song was even on an episode of "Lizzie McGuire".  The song was really good at the time but over the years it's kinda boring.  8/10

2) I'm Gonna Make You Love Me: The second single from "Play".  It is a cover that was originally performed by Diana Ross & The Supremes and The Temptations.  The song also features Chris Trousdale who at the time was in the band Dream Street with Jesse McCartney.  The video was just of the band being in the studio with Chris.  The was popular on Disney but the song itself isn't as good as the original.  6/10

3) Hopelessly Devoted: Song from their album "Play".  It is a cover that was originally sung by Olivia Newton-John in the film Grease.  While I don't listen to Olivia Newton-John, I question why this song is on here, instead of their cover of "Cinderella" which was the third and final single from "Play".  6/10

4) Let's Get to the Love Part: I reviewed this song on my review for "Replay".  Although it wasn't a single I'm glad it was on this album.  10/10

5) Girl's Mind: I reviewed this song on my review for "Replay".  It's the title track for this album so it makes sense that it'd be on this album.  10/10

6) I Must Not Chase the Boys: The first single from "Replay".  Like I said with the last two songs, I already reviewed this song.  10/10

7) Hot: While I reviewed this song on "Replay", I was confused why this song was on here instead of "Whole Again", the second single from "Replay".  I question why this song is on here.  6/10

8) What Is Love?: I reviewed this song on my review for "Replay", I know I've said it too many times, but the album has a lot of songs from that album on here.  Strange since that album only had 2 singles, but I still like this song.  10/10

9) Another Love Story: When I saw that this song was on the album I was surprised.  This song was on the group's album, "Don't Stop the Music" which is strange since Faye had left the group and was replaced by Janet for that album.  But this version has Faye's vocals on it which means that the song was an unreleased song from "Replay".  While it wasn't a single at all, it's cool to hear a different version of this song.  10/10

10) Ain't No Mountain High Enough: Reviewed this song on my "Replay" review, but I wonder why this song is on the album instead of their cover of "It's the Hard Knock Life", "evergirl", "M.A.S.T.E.R. Part 2", their cover of "Every Little Step" or "As Long as There's Christmas" which were all singles.  Makes no sense.  8/10

Despite "Girl's Mind" being released as a greatest hits album, the album only has 3 of the group's 9 singles at the time.  For die-hard Play fans it's a must buy because of the new version of "Another Love Story".  My favorite songs on the album are: "Another Love Story", "What Is Love?", "Let's Get to the Love Part", "Girl's Mind", and "I Must Not chase the Boys".  Out of 100 points I give the album 84 points which is 84%, a B.  Awesome!
