Miley Cyrus: Can't Be Tamed Album Review

Today is the last day of March!  That means I've done a review everyday for this month (whether they were good or not is another story...)  After today I will take another break from doing reviews but it won't be a long one!  Anyway, today I'll be reviewing Miley Cyrus' third album, "Can't Be Tamed".  The album was released back in 2010 and is my favorite album of hers.  To make a long intro short (or shorter than I had intended it to be) here's track by track review:

1) Liberty Walk: This is an empowering song about not letting anyone hurt you or say you can't do this or that.  I was surprised that Miley rapped the first verse but the song is amazing.  While the song wasn't a single, the song was remixed and had a video.  10/10

2) Who Owns My Heart: The second and sadly last single from the album everywhere except Australia.  Almost 5 years have passed and I still don't know what the song's about, but that doesn't stop me from dancing to it.  That being said, it should not have been released as a single.  8/10

3) Can't Be Tamed: The title track and first single from the album.  The song is about breaking free and being able to express yourself.  The chipmunk part in the second verse is funny but the video was strange.  This is the only song from this album that Miley sang on her "Bangerz" tour.  It peaked at number 8 in the U.S.  9/10

4) Every Rose Has Its Thorn: This was song the third single from the album in Australia.  Why it didn't get a video or get released in the U.S. is a mystery.  It is a cover song originally performed by the band, "Poison".  "Brett Michaels", the lead singer of that band, sang backup vocals on Miley's version.  She did a good rendition of the song.  10/10

5) Two More Lonely People: This song is about a relationship that has ended mutually.  It's has a little bit of a pop rock feel to it.  I love the third verse.  10/10

6) Forgiveness and Love: This song was performed at the "American Music Awards" back in 2010.  It was rumored to be the third single from the album, but it instead became a promo single released only in Germany.  While it's a good ballad, I usually skip it.  8/10

7) Permanent December: Despite the fact that the song uses a lot of auto-tune, the song is still amazing and is my favorite song on the album.  The song is about how a girl has been around the world and despite meeting guys (not sexually just friendly) none of them come close to her boyfriend back home so she decides to leave to be with him.  Wish this song had a video!  10/10

8) Stay: Despite not being a single, the song peaked at number 75 in the U.S.  The song is a ballad about a relationship that has ended but one person misses the other person and if that person wanted them back, the first would rush to be by their side.  8/10

9) Scars: This song is about running into an ex and pretending you're fine but you still have feelings for them.  A lot of people can relate to that.  Great song.  10/10

10) Take Me Along: The song should be titled "Take Me With You" because that lyric is in the song, not "Take Me Along".  Anyway the song is ballad about a relationship that's ended (there seems to be a pattern on this album) and telling the ex that they never find someone that's loved them as much as you loved them while questioning if they ever loved you at all.  10/10

11) Robot: This song is about not wanting to be controlled.  Maybe Miley wrote it about how she was sick of being told to be "perfect" because she was on "Hannah Montana".  Either way, the song is awesome and should've been a single.  10/10

12) My Heart Beats for Love: Finally a happier song.  The song is about being love with someone but no one approves of that relationship but you both stay together because it's a love worth fighting for.  Should've been a single.  10/10

Since this album release, Miley's released her fourth album, "Bangerz" and as of 2014 she is working on her fifth album.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 112 which 93%, an A.  I hope you enjoyed this one and all the reviews I did this month.  Thank you reading this review!

The Veronicas: Hook Me Up Album Review

Today I will be reviewing "The Veronicas'" second album, "Hook Me Up".  "Hook Me Up" was released 2 years after the twin's first album "The Secret Life of..." and was more of a pop/ dance-pop album whereas their first album was pop/rock.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Untouched: The second single from the album.  When I heard this song, I was excited about the album because it sounded cool.  The song is their most successful song in the U.S. peaking at number 17 on the charts.  The song and video have a dark vibe but both are awesome.  10/10

2) Hook Me Up: The first single from the album.  The song is about being tired of how your life is and want to get away from it for a little bit.  Lyrically it's great but the music is kinda boring.  The song became their first number 1 in Australia.  7/10

3) This Is How It Feels: The music overpowers the girl's vocals on this one.  The song is about how a guy is trying to get back with his ex but she doesn't want him back because he was the one who broke her heart and ended the relationship.  7/10

4) This Love: The third single from the album.  This song was co-written by "Ke$ha".  The song is about being in love with someone and not wanting to end the relationship because this person is the one.  It's a pretty good song.  9/10

5) I Can't Stay Away: Apparently this song was a promo single that was released around the same time as the album's fourth single, "Take Me on the Floor".  It is one of two songs that the twins didn't write on, the other being "This Love".  The song is about not being able to stay away from a person despite the fact that they're bad for you.  The song has a dark vibe and it's one of my favorites on the album.  Wish it had a video.  10/10

6) Take Me on the Floor: The fourth single on the album.  When the girls stated in an interview that when they wrote the song, they were thinking about having fun.  The video caused a little bit of controversy, so when the song was released in the U.S. a video of the girls performing the song on tour.  It's a pretty good song.  10/10

7) I Don't Wanna Wait: The song starts out with a weird intro and then it goes "I Don't Wanna Wait" five times.  The song is about not wanting to wait for a guy to make a move.  I don't really listen to this one much.  6/10

8) Popular: The fifth and final single from the album.  On this song the verses are rapped.  The song is about someone who feels their better than everyone.  The girls wrote song the song as a joke to the celebrity life.  It's fun to dance to.  I only wish the song had a video.  10/10

9) Revenge Is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were): From a fun song to a serious one.  The song is about how a relationship ended because the person you were with cheated on you and broke your heart.  This song should've been a single instead of "Hook Me Up".  It's one of my favorites.  10/10

10) Someone Wake Me Up: The song is a ballad about a breakup that doesn't feel real.  It also doesn't help that both people have the same friends so when they see each other it kills the narrator of the song.  It's a great song that, like many songs on this album, should've had a video.  10/10

11) All I Have: In this song the narrator makes the mistake of cheating on her boyfriend and though the boyfriend forgives and stays with them, the narrator still feels guilty for being unfaithful and wishes that it never happened.  The verses are amazing but the chorus isn't as good.  8/10

12) In Another Life: This is a ballad about how two people had promised each other they'd marry when they get older, but as time went on you changed and can't fulfill that promise and maybe they'll be together in another life.  The girls cried while recording this amazing song.  8/10

"Hook Me Up" is pretty good album and it's strange to think that the album was released almost 8 years ago.  My favorite songs are: "Untouched", "Revenge Is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were)", "I Can't Stay Away", "Popular", "Someone Wake Me Up", and "Take Me on the Floor".  Out of 120 points I give the album 105 points which is 87%, a B+.  Thank you for reading this review!

The Veronicas: The Veronicas Album Review

One of my favorite bands is the amazing, Australian duo, "The Veronicas".  The band is twin sisters "Jessica Origliasso and Lisa Origliasso".  Their first single "4ever" was released almost 10 years ago, and since then the girls have continued to be success.  Their third album, the self-titled, "The Veronicas", was released in late 2014 (last month if you live in the U.S. and about 2 weeks ago if you live in the UK).  The album took the girls awhile to released.  It was initially recorded as "Life on Mars" and they had started working on it back in 2010.  However 3 years went by and only one single was released called "Lolita".  Despite the song's success an album wasn't released and the girls left their then label, "Sire Records".  Thankfully they signed to "Sony Music Entertainment" in 2014 and released "The Veronicas".  Here's my track by track review:

1) Sanctified: This song has a dark southern rock kinda vibe to it.  The song received a remix that's pretty cool but that remix made the song less than a minute and a half.  The overall song is amazing and I wouldn't be surprised if it was released as the fourth single in the future.  10/10

2) Did You Miss Me (I'm a Veronica): In this song the girls rap like they did on "Popular" from their last album, "Hook Me Up".  In this song the girls have made it clear that they're back and they're here to stay.  Part of the song was used in their two episode webseries also titled "Did You Miss Me".  Well a lot of people did miss them and we're glad they're back.  10/10

3) Cruel: The third single from the album.  This is my favorite song on the whole album.  I was so excited when it was released as a single and had a video.  The song is about being out of a relationship with someone and even though you don't want them back, you hate seeing them with someone else.  In the video the girls trap a guy in their car, but he escapes to a hotel only to be captured by the girls again.  They tie his hands up but he's able to get the rope off while they're driving.  At the end of the video it seems the guy has won as he drives off feeling victorious, that is until one of the girls presses a button that causes the car to explode.  10/10

4) Line of Fire: When this song was released to the public, there were rumors that this song was the second single.  The rumors were later false as "If You Love Someone" was the second single instead.  The verses start off a little soft and low before the chorus comes in loud!  Another great song, hopefully it'll be a single.  10/10

5) Teenage Millionaire: This was one of the songs the girls wrote after they left their old label.  It has an awesome guitar intro in the beginning and the chorus is also amazing.  It's about how someone makes you feel happy.  10/10

6) Born Bob Dylan: Continuing with amazing songs is this amazing ballad.  It was originally on the album they recorded with their previous label before that album was scrapped.  It's about wishing you had the confidence to speak your mind and not be afraid of how people would feel about what you say.  It's an amazing song musically and lyrically.  10/10

7) Always: Like the last song, this is also a ballad.  It was co-written by singer/songwriter "Emeli Sande".  It's an okay song but I think I'd would've been better if it was performed by Emeli instead.  6/10

8) Mad Love: One of the more pop sounding songs on the album, this song is about how you love someone so much but they drive you insane.  Anyone relate to that?  I would love to see a video for this song and it's strange to think they been singing the song live for over a year before the album was released and that the song is just as amazing now as it was then.  10/10

9) You Ruin Me: The first single from the album.  The song is a piano ballad about a relationship that has ended.  The vocals and music are flawless.  The video was also amazing, especially when they put they tied up the guy in the trunk of their car...  Now that I think about it, made this song's video was the prequel to "Cruel's" video.  Plus "Cruel" was heard in the beginning of the video.  The song hit number 1 in Australia.  10/10

10) More Like Me: This song is about an ex's new girlfriend who is jealous of you because she's not as great as you were.  Funny thing is you don't care but the current girlfriend does.  The lyric "If you were more like me, you'd have f***ed a little harder" because it shocked me at first but it's one of my favorite parts of the song.  Props for going there (I don't mean for that to sound dirty!)  10/10

11) If You Love Someone: The second single from the album.  It's a very upbeat song about how the narrator encourages the listen, if they love someone, that they have to do something about it.  I really like the song and it was a hit in Australia where it peaked at number 5.  10/10

12) Cold: This song is about a relationship that is done.  You can feel the raw anger and emotions in this song.  I'd hate to be the jerk that inspired this song.  9/10

13) Let Me Out: This song is mainly played on acoustic guitar.  It's about not knowing where you stand in the relationship and the worst part is the other person doesn't really care.  It's a sad song.  8/10

14) You and Me: This song is more happy sounding song than the previous songs.  This seems to be about the twins relationship with each other and how no matter what happens they'll always have each other's backs.  Perfect way to end the album.  9/10

The Veronica's third album is, in my opinion their best album so.  They're planning on releasing a deluxe version of the album with 7 new tracks.  I can't wait for that!  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 140 points I give the album 132 points which 94%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review!

The Corrs: Home Album Review

It's seems pretty obvious that I'd be reviewing The Corrs' fifth, and to date final album, "Home" today because I reviewed there first four albums in the last four days.  The album was released almost 10 years ago.  The album is made up of both traditional and non-traditional Irish song and covers.  Here's my track by track review:

1) My Lagan Love: The song was released as a promo single.  It's a beautiful version of the traditional song but I don't listen to it much.  7/10

2) Sspancill Hill: This is one of my favorites on the album.  I wish it was released as a single.  The song is a traditional Irish song written by Michael Considine.  At the 3:37 point, the song turns into the instrumental, "Rakes of Kildare".  Both Amazing.  10/10

3) Peggy Gordon: This is actually a Canadian folk song but still a beautiful song nonetheless.  I didn't listen to the song until I heard it at the end of the band's documentary "All the Way Home (A History of the Corrs)".  It makes me sad but I still love it.  10/10

4) Black Is the Colour: A traditional folk song that is usually goes by "Black Is the Colour (of My True Love's Hair)".  It has a little bit of a darker tone than the other songs on the album but still a beautiful rendition of the song.  10/10

5) Heart Like a Wheel: This was released as a double A-side single with "Old Town".  The song is a cover that was originally performed by "Kate and Anna McGarrigle".  It's a beautiful piano ballad but unfortunately the song is the band's lowest charting single in the UK.  This may have been because it had no video and the cd single had nothing new to offer fans who had already bought the album.  Still a great song.  9/10

6) Buachaill On Eirne: No the name isn't Gibberish.  It's Irish for "Boy From Erne".  The reason for the title being in Irish is because the song is sung completely in Irish.  I'm relieved the CD booklet came with the English translation because I'd be very confused what Andrea was singing.  Good song though.  8/10

7) Old Hag: I actually thought they had sang on this song.  That's what I thought until I found out it was instrumental.  My bad!  It's really good though.  10/10

8) Moorlough Shore: This was released as digital single when I first heard it.  The song is a traditional Irish love song and I wish the song had a video.  9/10

9) Old Town: This a cover that was originally performed by "Philip Lynott".  The Corrs had performed and released their own version of the song on their "The Corrs: Unplugged" as a single.  It's interesting to see it on the album but I'm not sure why they released it as a single again.  7/10

10) Dimming of the Day: Unlike almost all of the group's songs, this song is sung lead by Sharon instead of Andrea.  It's a beautiful version of the song and it's cool to hear Sharon singing lead on this song.  9/10

11) Brid Og Ni Mhaille: If you think it's weird to read it, imagine typing it.  The song is "Bridget O'Malley" in Irish.  Like "Buachaill On Eirne", I would've loved to hear an English version but I still like that they sang the song in Irish.  It's beautiful.  8/10

12) Haste to the Wedding: An instrumental that band had been playing for a long time.  Glad it was finally put on an album.  Both the album version and live version on the special edition of "In Blue" are great.  9/10

It's sad to think that "Home" is last album The Corrs released but hopefully they'll release another album one day.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 106 points which is 88%, a B+.  Thank for reading this review!

The Corrs: Forgiven, Not Forgotten Album Review

Today I'm reviewing The Corrs' first album, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten".  The album was released in September 1995, almost 20 years ago.  Wow how times flies.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Erin Shore (Intro) (Instrumental): An amazing shorter version of the last song on the album.  Given that it is less than 30 seconds I won't give a score.

2) Forgiven, Not Forgotten: The title track and second single from the album.  The video was very dark and had the band performing on a rotating platform.  Andrea stated that she felt seasick after being on the platform for so many hours.  Can't say I blame her.  Good video and song though.  10/10

3) Heaven Knows: Apparently this song was released as a promo single.  The song seems to be about someone pleading to their lover to stay instead of leaving them for someone else.  Good song.  10/10

4) Along with the Girls (Instrumental): It's pretty short but still amazing.  Since it's shorter than a minute, I won't give it a score.

5) Someday: This song is about a relationship that going nowhere and how everything you felt that was there before such as the love and passion is gone.  Sharon's violin solo is my favorite part of the song.  10/10

6) Runaway: The first single from the album.  It's an amazing love song that was remixed and re-released as the seventh and final single from "Talk on Corners".  I prefer the version on this album.  The video was also amazing.  10/10

7) The Right Time: The third single from the album.  This song is so annoying to me.  Why couldn't the band have released "Someday" as the third single instead of this song.  The video was okay.  The song received a remix that still doesn't make the song any better to me.  3/10

8) The Minstrel Boy (Instrumental): An amazing instrumental that feels like it's from a romance film.  Very beautiful.  10/10

9) Toss the Feathers: Another instrumental.  This song has been performed on every tour the band did.  The difference between the live version and studio version is that the was an extended drum solo when the band performed it in concerts.  Either way it's still amazing.  10/10

10) Love to Love You: The fourth single from the album.  It was given a radio version which made it 40 seconds shorter.  Despite that it's still my favorite song on the album.  The song is about wanting to love a person as much as they love you but you can't because you've been hurt before.  The video showed the band traveling and performing.  10/10

11) Secret Life: I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what this song is about.  That being said I still love the song and it's one of my favorites on the album.  Sharon's violin solo is amazing.  10/10

12) Carraroe Jig (Instrumental): While it's less than a minute, it's still really good.  There was an extended version of the song that band would play but the title of the song would be "Joy of Life".

13) Closer: The fifth and final single from the album.  It's the only song that didn't get a video.  It has an amazing piano introduction and the song gets only better after that.  9/10

14) Leave Me Alone: Like "Heaven Knows", this song was also a promo single.   The song to be a little bit angrier than any of the other songs on the album.  It's okay but it doesn't stand out like most of the other songs on the album.  7/10

15) Erin Shore (Instrumental): This album has a lot of instrumentals!  This song would later be known as "(Lough) Erin Shore" when it was performed live.  Regardless of the what the name of the song is, it's still great and a perfect way to end the album.  10/10

Hard to believe it's been almost 20 years since this amazing album was released.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 109 points which is 90%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review!

The Corrs: Talk on Corners (Re-Release) Album Review

Continuing with "The Corrs" albums reviews, I've decided to review my second favorite Corrs' album.  The re-release of "Talk on Corners".  The album almost wasn't released because their label wanted them to record more songs and the band refused.  Thankfully their manager stepped in and the album was released.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Only When I Sleep: The first single from the album.  The song is about falling for someone who only exists in your dreams.  For some strange reason the song only peaked at number 58 in the UK.  No idea why when it's a great song.  10/10

2) When He's Not Around: This song was released as a promo single.  The song seems to be about how someone makes you feel so good that you can't breathe without that person.  It would've been awesome to see a video for the song.  10/10

3) Dreams: The fourth single from the album.  It is a cover of "Fleetwood Mac's" hit single.  The song was initially not on original version but it was later added onto the re-release of the album and became a hit.  It peaked at number 6 in the UK which was a higher peak than the original version of the song.  10/10

4) What Can I Do: The third and fifth single from the album.  No, that wasn't a typo.  The song was originally the third single from the album and peaked at 53 and when the album was re-released it was given a slight remix, only to be remixed yet again and was released as the fifth single.  This time it peaked at number 3.  Funny that their label didn't like the song and it ended up being successful.  9/10

5) I Never Loved You Anyway: The second single from the album.  The title alone says it all.  The song is a breakup song and you're happy the relationship is over because you never loved that person anyway.  The song peaked at number 43 in the UK, it should've peaked at a high position since it's an amazing song.  10/10

6) So Young: The sixth single from the album.  The label didn't want this song on the album but it was remixed when it was released as a single and peaked at number 6 in the UK.  Proof that record labels aren't always right.  The song was written by Sharon.  9/10

7) Don't Say You Love Me: The song is about how a girl who's boyfriend has let her down so many times and she's gotten to the point where if he doesn't take the relationship as serious as she does than they're finished.  9/10

8) Love Gives Love Takes: An amazing ballad about the ups and downs of love like how it can make you happy one minute and sad the next.  It's one of my favorites on the album.  10/10

9) Hopelessly Addicted: This one took a little more time for me to like then the other songs on the album.  It's about falling in love with someone that had been there from the beginning but it took time realize that.  9/10

10) Paddy McCarthy: An amazing instrumental.  How are they able to write these amazing instrumental pieces?  They performed this on their "In Blue Tour", the video can be found on youtube, it's awesome.  10/10

11) Intimacy: This was the only song on the album, besides the two cover songs, that wasn't written by The Corrs.  It's a beautiful ballad and the tin whistle solo is amazing.  10/10

12) Queen of Hollywood: The album's title comes from the lyric in this song, "and her friends they talk on corners".  The song is about a girl who wants to be a star and while it happens for her, she's had to do things she's not proud of in order to become the star she wanted to be.  While I like how the song tells an amazing story, this is my least favorite song on the album.  5/10

13) No Good for Me: Like "When He's Not Around", this song was also a promo single.  This is a song about being with someone who can't love you back because they love someone.  UGH!  One of the worst feelings ever.  It's also another of my favorites on the album.  10/10

14) Little Wing: The song is a cover.  It was written by "Jimi Hendrix" for the band, "Jimi Hendrix Experience".  I ignored the song initially but then I gave it a chance and liked it, especially the parts where the instrumental parts.  8/10

To this day, "Talk on Corners" is the band's most successful album everywhere except for the U.S. where "In Blue" is their best.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 140 points I give the album 129 points which is 92%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review!

The Corrs: Borrowed Heaven Album Review

Continuing with "The Corrs'" music, I'll be reviewing their fourth album, "Borrowed Heaven".  If you're wondering why the review is early, it's because I got sick and thought "I should do this review so I won't wait 'til later.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Summer Sunshine: The first single from the album.  The song is about a doomed relationship.  It's my favorite song on the album and the video was pretty cool.  10/10

2) Angel: The second single from the album.  The song was about the group's mother who had passed away before their previous album, "In Blue" was released.  The acoustic version of the song makes me cry.  10/10

3) Hideaway: This song feels like it's about being more independent in a relationship instead of co-depending on the other person foe everything.  10/10

4) Long Night: The third and final single from the album.  Like "Hideaway", this song was written by Sharon.  The song is about breaking up with someone.  Only Sharon and Andrea appear in the video.  10/10

5) Goodbye: Like the previous two songs, this song was written by Sharon.  The song, like "Angel" is about their mother.  It was remixed and released as the band's final single to date, in 2006 for their second greatest hits album, "Dreams: The Ultimate Corrs Collection".  There is also a demo version of the song where Sharon sings lead.  10/10

6) Time Enough For Tears: This song was used in the film, "In America" and was the only song on the album that the Corrs didn't write.  It was written by "Bono" from "U2" and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.  Sadly the song feels out of place for me.  5/10

7) Humdrum: The title means dull.  The song is the opposite.  The song is about how a relationship that has grown dull and boring over the years.  Didn't like it at first but it's grown on me.  10/10

8) Even If: This is a happy love song.  It's feels like "Breathless Part 2" in a way.  Despite that I love the song.  10/10

9) Borrowed Heaven: The title track.  It features vocals from "Ladysmith Black Mambazo".  The band has said that the song is a prayer.  It's very beautiful.  10/10

10) Confidence for Quiet: The song is pretty good, but I have no idea what it's about.  7/10

11) Baby be Brave: This song is a little bit darker than the rest of the album.  I love Sharon's part, "confide in me, tell your story, it's your fear that makes you worthy".  10/10

12) Silver Strand: This an instrumental piece that was written by Caroline and Sharon when they were recording their first album, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten".  It's amazing.  10/10

"Borrowed Heaven" is my favorite Corrs' album.  I love the whole album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 112 points which is 93%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review.

The Corrs: In Blue Album Review

One of my favorite bands is "The Corrs".  The Corrs are an Irish band made up of siblings: Jim Corr, Sharon Corr, Caroline Corr, and Andrea Corr.  Jim played guitar, Sharon played violin, Caroline played drums, and Andrea played tin whistle as well sang lead.  They released 5 studio albums as well as a few live and greatest hits albums.  Here's my track by track review of their third album "In Blue":

1) Breathless: The first single from the album.  It's my favorite song on the album and it's also the band's most successful single.  It was a hit in U.S., which is how I heard it.  Funny enough when I first heard it, I had no idea who sang it until 8 years later when I went on iTunes and the song was recommended for me and I freaked out when I found out it was the song I had heard all those years ago.   It was nominated for a Grammy and is 1 of 3 songs that were co-written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange who has written and produced for "Shania Twain", "Def Leppard", "Heart", etc.  10/10

2) Give Me a Reason: The third and final single from the album.  The album title comes from the lyric "it's not romantic here in blue, swimming, swimming in blue" in the beginning this song.  The video showed the band in a large building at a party.  It was a great choice as a single but for some reason it peaked lower on the UK charts than "Irresistible" which is strange when this song is way better.  10/10

3) Somebody for Someone: The song is about longing for love.  It's a pretty good song but not as amazing as the previous two songs.  7/10

4) Say: I "say, say, say" this is a boring track that I usually skip.  4/10

5) All the Love in the World: This song was remixed and released as a promo single for the film "America's Sweethearts".  The is about wanting a love that will last forever.  The song is the second out of the 3 songs that Robert John "Mutt" Lange co-wrote.  The isn't bad, but it shouldn't have been released as a single.  7/10

6) Radio: This song was released as a single for the band's live album "The Corrs Unplugged".  The song was initially set to be on the band's second album "Talk on Corners" but the song wasn't finished in time.  The band later recorded this amazing version of the song.  Sharon wrote the song and it's one of my favorites on the album.  10/10

7) Irresistible: The second single from the album.  This was the third and final song on the album that "Robert John "Mutt" Lange co-wrote.  It's not a bad song but it's not a strong choice for a single.  The video however was pretty cool and somewhat makes up for it.  7/10

8) One Night: This song was released as a promo single and had a video.  It's a beautiful ballad and the video was also good.  8/10

9) All in a Day: This song is kinda a filler track.  Andrea even sounds bored as she sings this song.  4/10

10) At Your Side: Like "Radio", this song was also on "The Corrs Unplugged".  It's about always being there for a friend.  While it's more poppy than the unplugged version, it's still a great song.  9/10

11) No More Cry: This song was written by Andrea and Caroline for their father to help him get over his grief for his wife, their mother, who passed away before the album finished.  It was hard to listen to the song for awhile because I would cry when I heard the song because it would make me think of my grandmother.  It's an amazing song though.  10/10

12) Rain: From an amazing song to a boring one.  I ignore this song a lot.  3/10

13) Give It All Up: This song is pretty catchy and fun to dance to.  8/10

14) Hurt Before: The song is a sad ballad with a great violin solo from Sharon.  I don't listen to the song much though.  6/10

15) Rebel Heart: This is an instrumental piece that was composed by Sharon for a four part series, also called, "Rebel Heart".  It's amazing and makes me cry sometimes.  Perfect way to end the album.  10/10

While "The Corrs" have been on a hiatus for about 10 years, their music is still great.  My favorite songs on the album are: "Breathless", "Radio", "Rebel Heart", "Give Me a Reason", "No More Cry", and "At Your Side".  Out of 150 points I give the album 113 points which is 75%, a C+.  Hope you liked this review!

Marion Raven: Set Me Free Album Review

Today I will be reviewing Marion Raven's "Set Me Free".  The album was her debut album in the U.S. and Europe while in other countries her debut album was "Here I Am".  The album was more rock than anything she had released with her band "M2M" which sang pop music.  "Set Me Free" was also made up of 3 new songs, 5 songs from "Here I Am", 3 songs from her ep "Heads Will Roll" and 1 song that was on both "Here I Am" and "Heads Will Roll".  Here's my track by track review:

1) Set Me Free: The title track that should've been a single.  The song is about wanting to be out of a relationship and be set free.  It's an amazing song.  10/10

2) Falling Away: The first single from the album.  It's an uptempo ballad where the narrator feels that her relationship is slowly falling apart.  The video was show in the snow and many snowboarders where in the video such as Marion's then-boyfriend, now husband, Andreas Wiig.  10/10

3) Crawl: The song starts off slow with a piano before turning into an uptempo rock song.  The song talks about how you thought the person you were with was amazing but as time went on, you realized just that person is like.  Didn't like when I first heard it but a couple more listens and I was hooked on this song.  10/10

4) Here I Am: This was the third single and title track from Marion's "Here I Am".  I'm pretty sure that she's talking about a relationship where the person you're with keeps making promises to you but keeps breaking them.  It's an amazing ballad.  10/10

5) Thank You for Loving Me: We finally have a happy song!  This is a love song that is about wanting to be with the one you love forever.  It's a great song.  10/10

6) 13 Days: This is the song that was on both "Here I Am" and "Heads Will Roll".  Marion has said that the song was about a boy who came to visit her.  They had nothing to talk about, she felt he was boring, and she felt trapped in her own home.  He also wrecked her car.  On the plus side she wrote this awesome, haunting rock song about it.  10/10

7) Break You: The second single from "Here I Am".  The song is the only song on the album that Marion did not co-write.  You know the saying "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"?  Well that this song is one of the reasons for that.  You can feel her rage for the ex that screwed her over.  The song almost rumored not to be on the album after it was covered by "Megan McCauley".  Megan's version is pretty good though and in the end "Break You" was included on this album.  It's a great song and had a great video.  10/10

8) Heads Will Roll: When I found out that this song had a video I was shocked.  Not because I didn't like it because I do, but because I didn't know it was re-recorded.  The re-recorded version of the song, which was the version put on this song, is a million times better than the original.  Also there are two versions of the video.  I'm going to leave it at that.  10/10

9) For You I'll Die: This song was inspired by the love that was shared by "Jim Morrison" and "Pamela Courson".  In fact Marion wrote the song after reading his biography.  It's a beautiful ballad.  9/10

10) At the End of the Day (featuring Art Alexakis from Everclear): This song is the most pop sounding song on the album.  Marion wrote the song about the first time she fell in love.  It's an okay song but I would've preferred "End of Me" being on this album in this song's place.  7/10

11) All I Wanna Do is You: This song kinda reminds me of "Jet's" song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl".  It's a pretty straight forward song.  I don't really listen to this song.  6/10

12) Let Me Introduce Myself (Acoustic): This is hidden track on the album.  Marion recorded an acoustic version of the song because she didn't feel the version on "Here I Am" had the essence of the song.  The song is about her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend.  10/10

Three years after this album was released, Marion released a new single called "Flesh and Bone" which followed up with another single called "Found Someone".  The songs were set to be on her album, "Nevermore".  I loved the songs and was excited for the album.  Unfortunately the album wasn't released.  Some rumors were that Marion didn't release it because she didn't like the finished product and other are that her label dropped her.  Either way, "Nevermore" was shelved with only the two singles being released and a snippet of a song called "Heartless" that was leaked onto the internet.  Despite it being shelved, rumors are that a few people were able to get the songs and I'm so jealous.  Anyway back to the review.  I like all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 112 points which is 93%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review!

Linkin Park: A Thousand Suns Album Review

What's this?  An album review this early?  Yes!  I decided to do one this early instead of waiting 'til the last minute, for once.  Today I'm reviewing Linkin Park's fourth album, "A Thousand Suns".  I'm gonna be honest and say this is my least favorite album of there's.  This is because the album sounds a little bit more pop than any album they've done.  This is my track by track review:

1) The Requiem: The first track is mainly instrumental, except for the part where the chorus of "The Catalyst" is played but it's a little higher than it is in that song.  It's okay but a little weird.  7/10

2) The Radiance: All this is, is 18 seconds of a speech by J.Robert Oppenheimer.  I won't give it a score because it's short.

3) Burning in the Skies: The third single from the album.  The song is about looking back on past mistakes.  I love Mike's part where he sings "blood of innocence burning in the skies".  The video was pretty good but the single wasn't released in the U.S.  9/10

4) Empty Spaces: Only 18 seconds and I actually thought it was the introduction to the next song on the album.  No score.

5) When They Come for Me: This is one of my favorites on the album.  The song is said to be about the comments that the band got for going in a different direction instead of making another album like "Hybrid Theory" or "Meteora.  It should've been a single.  10/10

6) Robot Boy: The song may be about someone who feels like a loner.  I don't listen to the song mainly because it doesn't feel like there's buildup to anything in the song to keep me interested.  6/10

7) Jornada Del Muerto: What is up with all these interludes?  It's getting a little annoying.  Still pretty good though.

8) Waiting for the End: The second single from the album.  I hated the song at because it sounded to mainstream but after hearing so many times, it began to grow on me.  My favorite line is, "all I wanna do is trade this life for something new, holding onto what I haven't got."  The video was a little strange though.  9/10

9) Blackout: This song was a promo single and was also rumored to be the fifth single at one point.  The song is an angry song and one of the few songs where Chester screams.  It was remixed as "Blackout (Renholder Remix)" for the "Underworld: Awakening Original Motion Picture Soundtrack".  9/10

10) Wretches and Kings: The song samples a little bit of Mario Savio's speech, "Operation of the Machine".  Why this song wasn't released as a single still confuses me.  It's one of the best songs on the album, as well as my favorite song on the album.  10/10

11) Wisdom, Justice, and Love: This song features a speech from Martion Luther King Jr.  It also features a piano playing in the background.  It's weird when the voice gets deeper near the end of it.

12) Iridescent: The fourth and final single from the album.  I had no idea what the title meant until I just looked it up (hehehe).  The was also used to promote the movie, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".  I think there's a little too much production which kinda overpowers the song.  8/10

13) Fallout: How many interludes are we at now?  4?  Geez!  The band might as well have released an ep instead of putting so many interludes on the album.  I find it weird hearing a clip of an auto-tuned version of "Burning in the Skies" here as well.

14) The Catalyst: The first single from the album.  The album title comes from a lyric in this song, "will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns".  While it was different from what the band had released prior, the single was still very successful.  10/10

15) The Messenger: This is just Chester singing on acoustic guitar.  His voice is awesome as well as the lyrics but (and I feel bad for saying) the song is a little forgetful to me.  7/10

"A Thousand Suns" is my least favorite album from the band.  I understand artists want to change their sounds every once and awhile but this was a drastic change that I'm pretty sure no one saw coming.  Thankfully their next two albums, "Living Things" and "The Hunting Party" were amazing.  My favorite songs on the album are: "Wretches and Kings", "When They Come for Me", "The Catalyst", "Waiting for the End", "Burning in the Skies" and "Blackout".  Out of 100 points I give the album 85 points which is 85%, a B+.  The score would've been much lower had I included the interludes.  Thanks for reading this review!

Linkin Park: Minutes to Midnight Album Review

Today I return with another Linkin Park review late at night.  When I review an album tomorrow I promise it will be typed earlier.  Anyway today I'll be reviewing Linkin Park's third album, "Minutes to Midnight".  The album was released was released 4 years after "Meteora".  This is the longest time apart from any album they released.  These days they release a new album every 2 years, and since their last album already had 4 singles I'm not waiting for their 7th album.  But back to the review.  The album was different from Linkin Park's previous albums and didn't was more somber and rock instead of the nu metal sound that "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" had.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Wake: This is an amazing instrumental.  It starts off soft then gets big and loud near the end.  That being said, because it's short I won't give it a score.

2) Given Up: The fourth single from the album.  The song was supposed to be the second single before being changed to the fourth.  You can feel the anger on this song.  The song talks about how you've had enough of the crap people are giving you to the point where you scream, "put me out of my misery!"  Really scary.  The video was of clips of shows with Linkin Park doing a performance.  The jingle sound was a little weird.  The song was the least successful of all the singles.  9/10

3) Leave Out All the Rest: The fifth and final single from the album.  The song talks about how the when the narrator's "time comes" when he passes away that he wants people to remember him for the positive things he's done and not the negative.  The video had the band in space, which doesn't make sense to me.  The song was on the "Twilight soundtrack" which may or may not have helped it do better on the charts than "Given Up".  10/10

4) Bleed It Out: The second single from the album.  It is one of two songs that Mike raps on.  The video was of a bar fight that was reserved showing how it happened.  When the band play it on tour it's given an extra drum solo.  10/10

5) Shadow of the Day: This was the third single from the album.  The song is a ballad and the video for it only featured Chester.  The song has a dark vibe to it and it showcases Chester's awesome vocals.  10/10

6) What I've Done: The first single from the album.  Chester said that the song was a goodbye to how the band used to be.  It took me some time to like the song but when I listened to the lyrics I began to like it.  The video showed the band performing in a desert.  10/10

7) Hands Held High: This is the second song where Mike raps.  The song talked about war, the difference between rich and poor and was basically a f*** you to Bush who was president at the time of the album's release.  It should've been a single.  10/10

8) No More Sorrow: Another angry in your face song.  It was originally titled "EBow Idea", they have the strangest working titles for songs.  It is the heaviest song on the album and would've been perfect as a single.  10/10

9) Valentine's Day: Like "My December" this song is about not being with the one you love.  The difference is that it's about losing that one you love.  It has more of a pop sound than the rest of the songs on the album.  9/10

10) In Between: Instead of rapping, Mike sings on this song.  The song sounds like the narrator is apologizing to his lover.  I don't really listen to the song but as I listen through the album right now (I do this when I review every album) I think it's pretty good.  8/10

11) In Pieces: The song is about how much of a jerk your ex was.  It's an okay song but it doesn't stand out as much as the other songs.  6/10

12) The Little Things You Give Away: Despite the song being past 6 minutes, it's pretty good.  Brad's guitar solo's are amazing.  It's still growing on me though.  7/10

While "Minutes to Midnight" wasn't like the band's previous two albums, it's still a good album.  I like all the songs on the album.  Out of 110 points I give the album 99 points which is 90%, an A.  Thanks for reading this review!

Linkin Park: Living Things Album Review

Today I'm continuing with Linkin Park album reviews, and typing reviews at the last minute.  I really need to start these early.  Today I'm reviewing the band's fifth album "Living Things" which was released in 2012.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Lost in the Echo: Initially titled "Holding Company", this song was the second single from the album.  The song talks about a friendship that started out well but as time when on the relationship began to dissolve.  The video was an interactive video where people who logged on from their facebook accounts would see pictures that they had posted.  I tried it and it shocked me a little bit.  10/10

2) In My Remains: I love that the ending has a military feel to it with the drums.  I'm not sure how interpret the song but I still really like it.  Wish it had a video.  10/10

3) Burn It Down: The first single from the album.  The song was originally called "Buried at Sea".  The song is about a relationship (whether it be romantic or friendship) that goes back and forth.  My favorite part of the song is Mike's rap.  10/10

4) Lies Greed Misery: The song had two working titles that were "Piledriver" and "Breaking Point".  You can feel the anger on this song and it's fun to listen when you're having a bad day.  It should've been a single.  10/10

5) I'll Be Gone: This song was almost the second single from the album but "Lost in the Echo" was released instead.  The song is about leaving a relationship that has failed.  It took me awhile to like this song.  9/10

6) Castle of Glass: The third and sadly final single from the album.  This is my favorite song on the album, so when I heard it would be a single I freaked out in excitement.  The song was used to promote the video game, "Medal of Honor: Warfighter".  The video showed a family in mourning.  It's hard to watch.  10/10

7) Victimized: While it's barely two minutes long, I'm choosing to review this song.  It's very in your face and my only negative is that the song is too short.  10/10

8) Roads Untraveled: Like "Castle of Glass" this song is a ballad.  It has a different kind of vibe than the rest of the songs on the album.  It's about not dwelling on the past.  9/10

9) Skin to Bone: This song is kinda boring.  I don't think I've listened to the full song.  Maybe I'll listen to the full the song in the future, but for now I give the song a 5.  5/10

10) Until It Breaks: I ignored this song for awhile until I heard the ending of it.  The ending is sung by the guitarist, Brad Delson.  His vocals are awesome but the beginning of Mike's rap in the first verse sounds weird.  9/10

11) Tinfoil: Every Linkin Park album has an instrumental and here it is.  It's pretty good and the ending leads perfectly to the last track.  9/10

12) Powerless: This song was released as a digital single from the "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter soundtrack".  The song has a somber feel to it and showcases Chester's amazing vocals.  The video for the song was used not just not promote the film but also promote "Music for Relief".  9/10

"Living Things" debuted at number 1 in the U.S., selling just 1,000 more copies than "Maroon 5's" album "Overexposed".  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 110 points which is 91%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review!

Linkin Park: Hybrid Theory Album Review

Continuing with rock album reviews and posting reviews really late (my bad) I'll be reviewing Linkin Park's first album, "Hybrid Theory".  The album was released almost 15 years ago, wow I feel so old now.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Papercut: The third single from the album.  The song is about paranoia.  This is my favorite Linkin Park song of all time so you can guess how excited I was when I found out it had a video.  Although the person on the other side of the room where the band was creeped me out, the video is still awesome.  10/10

2) One Step Closer: The first single from the album.  The song, like most of the songs on the record, is about anger.  It's when you've hit your breaking point and just want to shout "Shut Up!"  We've all had days like that.  10/10

3) With You: I didn't start listening to this song until last year.  It seems like the song is about a relationship that goes back and forth from being good one minute and bad the next.  That's at least what I think when I hear it.  Apparently it was also set to be a single after "In the End" but was cancelled, but that's just a rumor I heard.  10/10

4) Points of Authority: This song was originally called "Vertical Limit", not sure which title is weirder.  The song was remixed and re-titled as "Pts.OF.Athrty" and was released as single from their first remix album, "Reanimation".  I prefer the remixed version.  9/10

5) Crawling: The second single from the album.  I had this song for almost 3 years before I gave it a chance and started to like it.  The song is about taking responsibility for your actions.  The song won the band their first grammy award for "Best Hard Rock Performance" in 2002.  10/10

6) Runaway: While this song wasn't a single, it did chart on the U.S. Modern Rock Songs at 40 and the Mainstream Rock Tracks at 37.  The song about feeling like no one understands you and you want to run away from all the hell.  10/10

7) By Myself: This song is about how the narrator everything will go wrong even if he tries to make something work.  It's still growing on me.  7/10

8) In the End: The fourth and final single from the album.  It is currently to this day the band's most successful single peaking at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart.  Apparently Chester didn't want the song to be a single, how weird.  The song is about growing up and looking back on the hell you went through and realizing all of it didn't matter.  10/10

9) A Place for My Head. The guitar part in the beginning is awesome.  The song is about being sick of going through the same problems with your lover or friend because it's exhausting.  9/10

10) Forgotten: The song was initially called "Rhinestone" and it was on their demo "Xero" with a different lead singer.  The song is about feeling lost and it was remixed and had an animated video.  10/10

11) Cure for the Itch: Where do they find the titles for their songs?!?!?!  Anyway this song is an instrumental.  It's really good.  10/10

12) Pushing Me Away: This song is about still having feelings for an ex and knowing that you can't get back with them because of what has happened in the past.  They performed a piano version of the song back in 2008.  10/10

13) My December: Now for bonus tracks!  This song is completely different from the rest of the album.  It's about being away from the ones you love.  It showcases the band's softer side.  It was also a b-side for "One Step Closer".  10/10

14) High Voltage: The line "Coming at you from every side" was used on the band's song "Nobody's Listening" from "Meteora".  It was also a b-side for "One Step Closer".  It's a great song that should've been a single.  10/10

The band performed the album in it's entirety (minus the last two songs) last year at the "Download Festival".  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 140 points I give the album 136 points which is 97%, an A+.  Thank you for reading this review and I'm sorry for posting so late!

Linkin Park: Meteora Album Review

I have done so many pop album reviews that I feel I should switch it up and do a rock album review.  So today I'll be reviewing Linkin Park's second album, "Meteora".  The album was released in 2003, 12 years ago.  It had 5 singles (6 if you count the one that was released as a promo single and I do) that performed pretty well on the charts.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Forward: Given that it's thirteen seconds long, I won't give it a score.  I like but I wish it was longer.

2) Don't Stay: This song is about a breakup.  Chester's voice switch from being soft to being loud and screaming.  In the song the narrator wants their ex to leave him and alone because he's sick of being around that person.  You can feel the rage in his voice.  10/10

3) Somewhere I Belong: The first single from the album.  The song is about feeling alone and out of place.  I can relate because that how I felt as a teenager.  Ahh, the memories...  Anyway, the song is amazing and was a great choice for a single.  10/10

4) Lying from You: This song was the one that was released as a promo single.  The song about pushing a person away.  It was one of the songs that was used for the band's collaboration album "Collision Course" with "Jay-Z".  The song did very well on the charts, even peaking higher than "From the Inside".  It didn't have an official video but a video of the band performing the song from their "Live in Texas" dvd was used.  10/10

5) Hit the Floor: I initially ignored the song when I first got the album, but one day I was curious about it and gave it a chance.  The song is about how someone, whether it be your friend or lover or anyone else, treats them like s*** and that person allows until it gets to the point where they've had it.  I could relate to this song, high school memories.  Oh how I don't miss them at all.  10/10

6) Easier to Run: It's strange to think that I didn't listen to the song much when I got the album, but nowadays I wish it was a single.  The song talks about how a person wishes they could change but feels that "it's easier to run" then face their problems.  Another song I can relate to thanks to high school.  10/10

7) Faint: The second single from the album.  The song is about wanting to be heard and not be ignored.  The beginning of the song is amazing and while it's less than three minutes it's still one of their best songs.  10/10

8) Figure.09: This song is about how someone became a person they never wanted to be just to please someone.  It's a great song, but I still question why it was titled "Figure.09" when that word never comes up in the song.  So if anyone knows why, please comment and tell me.  10/10

9) Breaking the Habit: The fifth and final single from the album.  This was actually the first Linkin Park I ever heard.  I saw the video where it used anime to show different story lines.  The song scared me for awhile because it was pretty dark but I'm not scared of it anymore.  The is about struggling whether it be with addiction, self-harm, alcoholism, and they want the pain to go away.  10/10

10) From the Inside: The fourth single from the album.  I was actually shocked when I found out that this song was a single.  The song almost didn't make the album because Chester was sick and wasn't able to record for awhile but it made the album in time.  Unfortunately the was the least successful single from the album.  It had a good video though.  10/10

11) Nobody's Listening: How was this song not a single?!?!  The song is about pain and stress, as well as feeling like nobody hears what you're saying.  The song all samples part of the band's song "High Voltage".  Amazing song.  10/10

12) Session: It seems every Linkin Park album must have an instrumental track.  "Session" is that song for this album.  It's really good, in fact it was so good that it was nominated for "Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance" back in 2004.  While it didn't win the award, it's still one of the band's best instrumental songs.  10/10

13) Numb: The third single from the album.  In this song the narrator talks about how their parents have high expectations and all he wants to do is be himself but they don't feel that's the right thing to do.  A lot of teenagers (and young adults) can relate to this song.  It was remixed as "Numb/Encore" with "Jay-Z" and won a Grammy.  Amazing song.  10/10

"Meteora" is my favorite Linkin Park album and I keep hoping one day they'll make another album like it.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 120 points which is 100%, an A+.  Thank you for reading this review, I hope you liked it, and I'm sorry I'm posting it so late!

Natasha Bedingfield: Strip Me Album Review

It's hard to believe that almost 11 years ago, 10 in you live in the U.S. like me, that Natasha Bedingfield released her debut album "Unwritten".  The album was a success and she 3 years later released her second album ("N.B." in the UK, "Pocketful of Sunshine in the U.S.) which were both successful as well.  3 more years went by and Natasha released her third album, "Strip Me" in the U.S. (in other countries it was released as "Strip Me Away".  "Strip Me" will be the album I review today so here is my track by track review:

1) Little Too Much: The song was used a trailer for the film "Something Borrowed".  It's about being in love and it can be scary too fall but in the end it's worth it.  9/10

2) All I Need (featuring Kevin Rudolf): This is one of my favorites on the album.  I was completely shocked when I heard the chorus to Kevin Rudolf's hit song "Let It Rock" on the song.  It was really cool and I wish it was released as a single!  The song is about being happy because all you need is what you have.  10/10

3) Strip Me: The second single and title track.  In this song the narrator says you can everything away from me but at the end of the day I'm still the same.  It's very empowering and was the only single from the album to chart on the Billboard U.S. charts.  The video showed Natasha in many different outfits.  10/10

4) Neon Lights: No this not a cover of "Demi Lovato's" song.  The song was featured in the film, "What's Your Number?"  I ignored the song until I heard the movie.  Now it's one of my favorites on the album.  It's very catchy.  10/10

5) Weightless: This was the third single, or at least it was announced as the third single but someone at her label dropped the ball on the single release.  Also Jamie Fox was featured on the single version.  I love hearing this song because it helps me out when I'm having a bad day.  Wish it had a video because it's an amazing song.  10/10

6) Can't Fall Down: The song is about feeling that nothing you do makes anything better and feeling that if you stay down, nothing bad will happen.  Or at least that's how I view the song.  It's pretty good.  8/10

7) Try: This song is a love song about being in love with someone and not giving up on being with them.  It's an amazing ballad.  8/10

8) Touch: The first single from the album.  The song is different from the rest of the album.  It's more dancey than the rest of the album.  I feel it doesn't fit on this album and it's kinda boring.  5/10

9) Run-Run-Run: I liked it at first but after awhile I think it was boring.  5/10

10) Break Thru: I actually haven't really listen to the song until now.  It's pretty good though.  7/10

11) No Mozart: One question, why wasn't this song a single?!?!?!  It's Amazing!  I love part "you don't have to be a Mozart, if you just play it from the heart."  It took awhile to grow on me.  10/10

12) Recover: A piano ballad that talks about healing from the bad things in your life.  It's a great song.  8/10

13) Weightless (Less Is More Version): A stripped back version of the song.  Still an amazing song.  10/10

"Strip Me" is a very empowering album, however the album was a commercial failure in the U.S. peaking at number 103 on the album charts in the U.S.  My favorite songs are "Weightless", "Strip Me", "Neon Lights", "All I Need (featuring Kevin Rudolf)", and "No Mozart".  Out of 130 points I give the album 111 points which is 85%, a B+.  Natasha's next album "The Next Chapter" is rumored to be released this year.  Thank you for reading this review!

Vanessa Carlton: Heroes & Thieves Album Review

While I wait for Vanessa Carlton's "Liberman" album to be release, I'll review her third album "Heroes & Thieves".  Vanessa started recording the album when she went into the studio to work with Linda Perry and The Matrix for a re-release of her second album, "Harmonium".  The re-release didn't happen as she left the label after promotion for the album ended.  She would later sign a new record deal with "The Inc. Records" and release "Heroes & Thieves".  She worked on the album with Linda Perry and her ex-boyfriend Stephan Jenkins, the lead singer of "Third Eye Blind".  Here's my track by track review:

1) Nolita Fairytale: The first single from the album.  The song was originally just called "Fairytale" and talked Vanessa's life in Nolita.  The video showed a few fairytale characters as well as Vanessa paying homage to her first video "A Thousand Miles" in the beginning of the video where she sits down to play the piano and it begins to move.  The difference is the she does since for a few short seconds before she stops playing, gets up and leaves while the piano is destroyed by a car.  Great song and video.  10/10

2) Hands on Me: The second and unfortunately final single from the album.  It was originally titled "Put Your Hands on Me" but the titled was shorted because "Joss Stone" had a song with the exact same title on her album, "Introducing Joss Stone".  It's a beautiful love song and it had a simple, but great, music video.  10/10

3) Spring Street: This song is a little bit more serious than the first two songs.  In the song, the narrator talks about their life throughout the years.  For example in the first verse she goes to spring street with a suitcase as she leaves her mother, while in the third verse the narrator is now a mother with child of her own.  It took a couple listens to like it.  I can relate to the lyric, "And everything changes and friends become strangers", which makes me wanna cry sometimes.  10/10

4) My Best: This song is about the aftermath of a relationship.  In this one the narrator says that while they didn't work out, the narrator wishes them well.  A real departure from how Vanessa was when she released "C'est la Vie".  The song is pretty good but it doesn't stand out as much as the other songs on the album do.  8/10

5) Come Undone: This song about being in love with someone who makes you feel comfortable to tell them everything without feeling judged.  Loved the song from the first listen, I especially love the instrumental parts in the beginning and the end of the song.  10/10

6) The One (featuring Stevie Nicks): This was the first song I had heard that had Stevie Nicks on it.  Keep in mind I listened to mainly mainstream music at the time.  Anyway, the song was inspired by a conversation Vanessa had with Stevie about relationships and the search for "the one".  Stevie sings background on this song and it would've been cool to see a video for it.  10/10

7) Heroes & Thieves: The title track track and my favorite song on the album.  Because the song was performed as much as the singles from this album were, it makes me believe that this would've been the third single had Vanessa not left the label after promotion for the album was done.  The song is about not being able to tell who the heroes are and who the thieves are.  Very relatable song.  Wish it was a single.  10/10

8) This Time: This song took me awhile to like it.  The song is about trying to keep a relationship going when it's not working but you don't want to give up on it.  I like it but sometimes I feel it's a little too long.  9/10

9) Fools Like Me: I love this song.  The song talks about loving someone despite knowing it'll end badly.  I think everyone can relate to this song.  I wish it was a single!  10/10

10) Home: This was almost the second single from the album before "Hands on Me" was chosen instead.  The song is a beautiful ballad about how someone makes you feel like you're home when you're with them.  I love the song, especially the instrumental part at the end.  10/10

11) More Than This: I went through a couple years of ignoring this song before I listened to it.  I feel bad for ignoring it when it's a great song.  The verses made me sad at first but I like it a lot more now.  Her dog also barks at the end of the song, which was very surprising.  Vanessa also performed a stripped down version of the song for the album "Songs for Tibet".  10/10

Like I mentioned for the review of the song, "Heroes & Thieves" Vanessa left "The Inc. Records" after promotion for the album ended.  It's a shame because the album is amazing and is my favorite album from her.  I love all the songs on the album.  Out of 110 points I give the album 107 which 97%, an A+.  Vanessa Carlton's fifth album, "Liberman", will be released later this year.  Thank for reading this review and I hope you liked it!

Vanessa Carlton: Harmonium Album Review

In 2004 Vanessa Carlton released her second album, "Harmonium".  The album was darker than her first album "Be Not Nobody", in fact the album was almost called "Pleased to Meet You: Vanessa Carlton, the New American Goth".  Wow that's a mouthful.  Here is my track by track review:

1) White Houses: The first single from the album and the only single to be released in the U.S.  The song only peaked at number 86 though, this was due to the song not being played on radio much because it was a "coming of age" song about a girl losing her virginity.  They played songs like "Slow Motion" and "Lean Back" during those days but "White Houses barely got any airplay?  What has this world come to?  The song was the only single to have a video.  10/10

2) Who's to Say: Many people don't know this, but this was the third and final single from the album.  It was only released in Asia though.  The song is about being in a relationship that everyone disapproves of.  Many people can relate to this, especially teenagers.  Wish it had a video.  10/10

3) Annie: Vanessa wrote this song after she met a girl on tour who had leukemia.  It is a beautiful song but it's hard to listen to sometimes because it's sad.  A beautifully sad song.  9/10

4) San Francisco: I still find it hard to believe that her label at the time felt that there wasn't a song on this album that could be a hit on radio, when this amazing song is on the album.  If it was a single then it would've put the album back in the charts.  This song feels like it could've been on "Be Not Nobody" and it makes me cry sometimes.  10/10

5) Afterglow: I usually ignore this song.  Not because it's bad or anything like that, it just doesn't jump out to me.  Oddly enough this was one of Vanessa's favorites on the album.  The song is about letting go of your anger.  8/10

6) Private Radio: The second single from the album.  It was initially set to be the first single from the album but it was changed for unknown reasons.  When I first heard it I instantly loved it.  I was surprised when I found it was about insomnia.  Great song that should've been a hit!  10/10

7) Half a Week Before the Winter: This is my favorite song on the album.  It's also a very dark song.  Anyone can relate to this for example the lyric "the unicorns are riding high, powerful in coats of white" are the entertainers, actors, jocks, etc. and lyric later "the vampires are growing tired, the coats of white will turn to red", the vampires being the people that want to see them fail.  The song is basically about survival of the fittest.  While the it's strange to have the song be called "Half a Week Before the Winter" when it doesn't really represent the song, I still love the song and wish it had a video.  10/10

8) C'est la Vie: No this isn't a cover of "B*Witched's" song.  Vanessa wrote the song after being dumped and to her the term "c'est la vie" at the time meant "f*** it".  It actually means "that's life" but the song is great so doesn't matter.  10/10

9) Papa: I thought the song was called "Plastic Love" for awhile.  Vanessa has said that the song isn't about her father and it was about, in her words, "a different kind of daddy".  Hmmmm.  Interesting.  The song is good but I wish it was longer.  10/10

10) She Floats: This song is another dark song.  Both musically and lyrically.  I read someone that Vanessa wrote it from the perspective of someone who has passed away.  Very creepy.  The screams also freaked me out when I first heard it.  The song is the longest song on the album at 5 whole minutes.  8/10

11) Where the Streets Have No Name: From a dark song to a more upbeat song.  If you bought the Japanese version of this album, then you got this song as a bonus track.  It is cover that was originally performed by "U2".  It's very uplifting and positive and a great rendition of the song.  10/10

12) The Wreckage: This song is a hidden track on the album.  Vanessa wrote this song about wanting to start a car crash.  Well if does that I hope she's able to pay for the damages.  Yes that was a bad attempt to be funny when the song is a little dark.  8/10

While Vanessa had more control on this album then the last one, her label wasn't happy with it.  This led to the label barely promoting it which in turn led to poor album sales.  After this, her then label, A&M Records, told her to go back to the studio to write some "hit songs for radio so they could release a re-release of the album.  She initially did go and wrote songs with Linda Perry (who's written for Christina Aguilera and P!nk) and The Matrix (who worked with Avril  Lavigne) she later had a "revelation" and left the label after promotion for the album.  It's an amazing and it's a shame it didn't get the attention it deserved.  I love all the songs and the album.  Out of 120 points I give the album 113 points which is 94%, an A.  Thank you for reading this review and I hope you like it!

Billie Piper: Walk of Life Album Review

When most people think Billie Piper they either think "Rose Tyler" from "Doctor Who" or "Brona Croft" in "Penny Dreadful" but before she was an actress, Billie Piper was a singer.  She had two albums, "Honey to the B" and "Walk of Life" before leaving the music business and doing acting.  Today I'll be reviewing her second and final album, "Walk of Life" so here's my track by track review:

1) Day & Night: The first single from the album.  The song was Billie's third and final number 1  in the UK.  The song was produced by Stargate who's produced songs for Rihanna, Samantha Mumba, Beyonce, etc.  The video featured Billie in a nightclub and later at a laundromat.  Great song and perfect first single.  10/10

2) Something Deep Inside: The second single from the album.  The version on the album is the radio mix, unless you got the Japanese version of the album then it's the original version.  Billie has said that she regrets the releasing the song.  The song hit number 4 in the UK and in the video Billie was in a futuristic house where she did some dance moves.  It's an okay song.  8/10

3) Walk of Life: The third and final single, as well as the title track.  The song is Billie's last single as well as her lowest charting single in the UK, peaking at number 25.  The song was a ballad that is really good and the video was also pretty good.  10/10

4) Safe with Me: This song should've been a single!  The song is a ballad about how someone is sad and the narrator tells that person to tell them what's wrong because their secret is safe with them.  10/10

5) Bring It On: This was co-written by Kara DioGuardi who has written songs for Delta Goodrem, Hilary Duff, Christina Aguilera.  It's kinda a mixture of latin pop meets pop/rock vibe to it.  I ignored at first but after a couple listens I liked it.  9/10

6) Ring My Bell: This song has a sexy vibe to it.  I thought the song was stupid at first but the song's kinda grown on me.  8/10

7) The Tide Is High: This song is a cover song that was originally performed by "The Paragons" and made famous by "Blondie".  The song was supposed to the fourth single from the album but after a court case against a woman who had sent Billie, her friends, and family death threats Billie told her label not to release it because she was worn out and done with singing.  While I understand why she did that, I still wish it had a video because she did a great version of the song.  10/10

8) Run That by Me: This song is weird.  Billie sounds tried on this song and I also find the lyric, "I get crushed while you never mind" mainly cause I thought she was singing "I get crushed wine never mind".  Don't laugh, that's how I heard the lyric!  7/10

9) Promises: The song is a great ballad.  The song is about not needing to make promises because they are hard to keep.  I like the song and I don't listen to it as much as I should.  8/10

10) Because of You: This song is okay but is very forgettable.  It's not bad but it doesn't stand out much.  5/10

11) What Game Is This?: In this song Billie questions her lover why he's lying about cheating on her when it's completely obvious.  This is my favorite song on the album, I love the lyric "when you go from my house, creeping quiet as a mouse".  I would've loved to see a video for this song.  10/10

12) Misfocusing: This song talks about how Billie wants people to focus on the real her and not the one they hear about on tv.  Lyrically amazing but the overall is kinda boring.  6/10

"Walk of Life" is Billie's last album before ending her music career in favor of acting.  I wish she would've taken "Run That by Me", "Because of You", and "Misfocusing" off the album and replaced them with "First Love", "Makin' My Way", and "Caress the Gold".  Then the album would've been perfect.  My favorite songs on the album are: "What Game Is This?", "Day & Night", "Safe with Me", "The Tide Is High", "Walk of Life" and "Bring It On".  Out of 120 points I give the album 101 points which is 84%, a B.  Amazing album and if you haven't checked it out you should.  Thanks for reading this review!

A*Teens: The ABBA Generation Album Review

It's no surprise that I'd review this album.  Mainly because it's last minute, again.  Sorry!  I lost track of time!  Usually when I do an album review I'll say "this is a cover song originally performed by "..." well I won't be today because the album is called "The ABBA Generation" and it's filled with ABBA covers.  It was also the first album I ever got and I'd play the cd over and over in my boombox (I was 10, it was the year 2000 yeah I'm that old!)  Anyway here's my track by track review:

1) Mamma Mia: The first single from the album.  On some versions of the single they group was labeled as "ABBA Teens" because that was the group's original name.  Glad they shorted it to "A*Teens".  The video had the group working as waiters until they discover a painting that teleported them to a party.  If only that happened in real life.  10/10

2) Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight): The third single from the album.  Still surprised that "Super Trouper" charted higher as a single in Sweden than this song when this one is better.  The video was a little darker than their previous singles (actually the video was darker than video they released afterwards too.  Still good though.  10/10

3) Super Trouper: The second single from the album.  I still find it weird that this song was a single because even though it's good, it's not great.  I would've preferred "S.O.S." as a single instead.  7/10

4) One of Us: This song was released as a promo single.  It had a video and is a pretty good song.  8/10

5) Voulez-Vous: The title is french for "do you want?".  I had no clue about that until I was 16.  The song kinda scared me as a kid.  Mainly the line "your eyes are glowing in the dark" and "masters of the scene" I used to think it was masters of the sea.  My bad!  Anyway the song is one of my favorites.  10/10

6) S.O.S.: It's weird how when I was a kid I ignored the song, but these days it's my favorite on the album.  I wish they made a video for this song.  10/10

7) Dancing Queen: The fourth and final single from the album.  It was very popular here in the U.S. and was one of my favorites as a kid, but I don't really like it as much.  Really strange.  5/10

8) Take a Chance on Me: I was shocked to find out that this song was a promo single and had a video.  The song is pretty good but the video, not so much.  8/10

9) Lay All Your Love on Me: This one is weird.  The verses sound like someone is in pain trying to sing them.  The song also feels way to long.  4/10

10) The Name of the Game: Another song that was a promo single and had a video.  This album had a lot of videos for the songs.  If only their "Teen Spirit" album was like that.  The song is pretty good and the video is, so so.  8/10

11) Our Last Summer: The second verse used to sound to me for years.  It wasn't until I was 16 that I found out that the boys sang that verse.  Surprising since the girls sang lead on every song on this album but it was a good change of pace.  Good cover.  8/10

It pains me to say that this is the last A*Teens album review.  Wish they didn't breakup!  :'(  The album was a big part of my childhood and I still listen to the album from time to time.  My favorite songs are: "S.O.S.", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", "Voulez-Vous", and "Mamma Mia".  Out of 110 points I give the album 90 points which is 81%, a B.  I still love this band and I keep hoping they'll reunite one day.  Thank you for reading this review and I hoped you enjoyed it.

Kelly Clarkson: Piece by Piece (Deluxe) Album Review

I bet everyone thought that I was gonna do another A*Teens review.  Well I came very close to it so it may come in the future.  Anyway today I'll be reviewing the deluxe version of Kelly Clarkson's newest album, "Piece by Piece."  I wanted to wait a couple days after the album was released before I reviewed it.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Heartbeat Song: The first single from the album.  At first I thought the song was boring but after awhile I liked it.  The video was also great having scenes of couples and Kelly herself in some parts.  9/10

2) Invincible: Kelly wants this song to be the next single.  It wouldn't surprise me though.  It's an empowering song that was co-written by "Sia" who's written for "Christina Aguilera", "Beyonce", "Rihanna", just to name a few.  Really good song.  9/10

3) Someone: The beginning sounded very familiar to a song, who's name I can't remember.  The narrator wants the listener to find someone that will be the for you and never leave your side.  9/10

4) Take You High: This song was written by "MoZella" who co-wrote "Miley Cyrus'" hit single, "Wrecking Ball".  Kelly has mentioned that this song, as well as "Dance with Me", is set to have some remixes in the future so maybe this will be a single in the future.  9/10

5) Piece by Piece: The title track.  Kelly said that the song is the most personal song on the album.  The song talks about her relationship with father and later in the song she mentions how her husband restored her faith in good men.  Amazing song and one of my favorites.  10/10

6) Run Run Run (featuring John Legend): The song is an amazing ballad and it was originally recorded by "Tokio Hotel".  Kelly had no idea about that but thankfully the band isn't angry.  Regardless of which version is better, the song is still great.  9/10

7) I Had a Dream: In this song Kelly tells the listener to follow their dreams and not to lose their worth or self respect.  Very empowering and inspiring.  9/10

8) Let Your Tears Fall: Like "Invincible", "Sia" co-wrote this song as well.  It was the first song recorded for the album.  The song about telling your lover that they can cry on your should and you won't judge them because you love them.  In a way it could be a part two to Kelly's single, "Dark side" because it sounds like the person is crying after confessing their past but you accept them for who they are.  Hopefully it'll be a single.  10/10

9) Tightrope: Like "Run Run Run", this song is a piano ballad.  It showcases Kelly's amazing vocals.  Beautiful song.  9/10

10) War Paint: This song is about letting your guard down for the one you love.  I thought it was dull and boring at first, but it's growing on me.  8/10

11) Dance with Me: The song was used in a promo for "Dancing with the Stars" and was also supposed to be on Kelly's greatest hits album, "Greatest Hits - Chapter One".  The song is still growing on me because it still sounds kinda boring.  6/10

12) Nostalgic: When I saw the tracklisting I thought that I'd hate this song but instead it was the complete opposite.  The song has an '80's vibe to it, it's fun to dance to, and it's one of my favorites on the album.  It makes me happy.  10/10

13) Good Goes the Goodbye: This is my favorite song on the album.  The song is about a relationship coming to an end.  Apparently the song was originally a country demo, I believe that and hope that a country version of the song gets released one day.  I also hope this song becomes a single.  10/10

14) Bad Reputation: The next three songs are on the deluxe edition.  Despite this song's title, it's not a cover of "Joan Jett's" hit of the same name.  It is an original song in which Kelly tells a man not to tell anyone about them because if anyone finds out about them it'll ruin her reputation.  The song's got a good beat to it.  9/10

15) In the Blue: This song is a ballad.  It's okay, but it's still growing on me.  8/10

16) Second Wind: The music to this song is strange.  It also distracts the vocals and the lyrics to me.  It's sad cause the lyrics are amazing.  6/10

I'm gonna be honest, when I first heard the album I thought it sucked and wondered why Kelly made it.  Thankfully I listened to the album more and it's pretty good.  The album debuted at number 1 in the U.S.  Kelly's second album to do that, her first album to that was "All I Ever Wanted" back in 2009.  My favorite songs are: "Good Goes the Goodbye", "Let Your Tears Fall", "Piece by Piece", "Nostalgic", and "Bad Reputation".  Out of 160 points I give the album 140 points which is 87%, a B+.  Awesome job Kelly.  Thank you reading my review!

A*Teens: Greatest Hits Album Review

Yes I'm still obsessed with A*Teens.  Yes, I'm doing this review last minute.  Yes, I'm lazy.  No, this will not be the last time I do this.  So without further ado, here's my track by track review:

1) Mamma Mia: The first single from their debut album, "The ABBA Generation".  The song, much like all the songs from that album, is a cover by "ABBA".  It was their first single everywhere, except here in the U.S. where it was the second single.  It's a great version of the song.  10/10

2) Upside Down: The first single from their second album, "Teen Spirit".  Here in the U.S. and Canada it was called "Bouncing Off the Ceiling (Upside Down)".  I reviewed the song a year ago in my review of "Teen Spirit" a year ago.  I still love this song.  10/10

3) Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight): The third single from their debut album, "The ABBA Generation".  I had no idea it was a single until I saw the video on youtube 9 years ago (yeah that long.)  The group also recorded a Spanish version of the song.  The song was one of my favorites as a kid and it's still one of my favorites now.  10/10

4) Floorfiller: The second single from "Pop 'til You Drop!" and the first single from "New Arrival".  I reviewed the song in my review for both those albums and all I can say is that it's a great song.  9/10

5) Dancing Queen: The fourth and final single from "The ABBA Generation".  It was the first single in the U.S. and was the song that made me a fan of them.  Oddly enough 15 years after it's release (dear lord, has it really been that long?  Damn I'm old) I don't really like the song that much anymore.  Sad when it was the song that made me a fan of them in the first place.  5/10

6) A Perfect Match [Single Mix]: The second single from "New Arrival".  The version on here is the version that was released as a single (obviously).  What I failed to mention in my review for "New Arrival" is that the song had two versions, the version that was on the album and the one that was the single mix.  Both versions are amazing.  Also there is apparently a third version that replaces the lyrics, "Snatch" with "Flash" and "South Park" with "Star Wars".  That version was released to Radio Disney but I have no idea where to find it so if anyone knows where I can find it please leave a message in the comment section.  10/10

7) ...to the Music: This was the fourth single from "Teen Spirit".  I said in my review of "Teen Spirit" that I was annoyed that this song was a single and got promotion while "Firefly", the fifth single got no promotion, video, or radio airplay.  I wish "Firefly" was on here instead of this song.  7/10

8) Halfway Around the World: The second single from "Teen Spirit".  The song sometimes makes me cry when I listen to it because it makes me think of my friends who have moved.  It's a great song and one of my favorite songs from them.  10/10

9) Sugar Rush: The third single from "Teen Spirit".  Wow three songs from "Teen Spirit" in a row?  Crazy!  The video was shot in Malibu, California and it was a great video.  I've been listening to this song a lot these days mainly because the "Teen Spirit" album is my favorite album from them.  10/10

10) Super Trouper: The second single from "The ABBA Generation".  Another song that I had no idea was released as a single until I saw that video.  That being said the song is okay but doesn't stand out like most of the songs on here.  7/10

11) Heartbreak Lullaby [Ballad Version]: I'm curious why this version is on the album when the Ray Hedges 7 Mix" was released as single.  Like I said in my review of the group's "New Arrival" album, this version has more emotion and I like both versions but it would've been good to have the original of the song on here or a video for this version.  9/10

12) Can't Help Falling in Love: The first single from "Pop 'til You Drop!".  I reviewed the song in my review for both "Pop 'til You Drop!" and "New Arrival" and don't have much else to say about the song except that it's a good version of it.  9/10

13) Let Your Heart Do All the Talking: The third and final single from both "Pop 'til You Drop!" and "New Arrival".  While the song didn't get a full release I'm glad the song was still put on this album.  It would've been cool to see a video for the song.  9/10

14) The Final Cut: The group wrote this song.  It's about looking back over the years and feeling they should breakup (which the shouldn't have done!)  It's an okay but I don't like listening to it because it makes me sad.  7/10

15) With or Without You: Like "The Final Cut" this song was written by the group.  The song is about reminiscing about the past like the last song.  It's a good song but it's still hard to listen to.  8/10

16: I Promised Myself: The first and final single from this album.  Sadly it was also the last single from the group.  It is a cover song originally performed by "Nick Kamen".  The video showed the group interacting with the younger selves from their previous videos which was really cool but sad when it ended because it meant the group was done.  It's bittersweet.  10/10

It still sucks that it's been 11 years since the A*Teens broke up.  Like I've said before, I hope they reunite one day.  My favorite songs on the album are: "Halfway Around the World", "Sugar Rush", "Upside Down", "Mamma Mia", "A Perfect Match [Single Mix]", "Heartbreak Lullaby [Ballad Version], "Can't Help Falling in Love", "Floorfiller", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" and "I Promised Myself".  Out of 160 points I give the album 140 which is 87%, a B+.  The album is a great album to have if you're an A*Teens fan like me!  Thank you for reading this review and once again I apologize for being late with this review!
