Kelly Clarkson: Piece by Piece (Deluxe) Album Review

I bet everyone thought that I was gonna do another A*Teens review.  Well I came very close to it so it may come in the future.  Anyway today I'll be reviewing the deluxe version of Kelly Clarkson's newest album, "Piece by Piece."  I wanted to wait a couple days after the album was released before I reviewed it.  Here's my track by track review:

1) Heartbeat Song: The first single from the album.  At first I thought the song was boring but after awhile I liked it.  The video was also great having scenes of couples and Kelly herself in some parts.  9/10

2) Invincible: Kelly wants this song to be the next single.  It wouldn't surprise me though.  It's an empowering song that was co-written by "Sia" who's written for "Christina Aguilera", "Beyonce", "Rihanna", just to name a few.  Really good song.  9/10

3) Someone: The beginning sounded very familiar to a song, who's name I can't remember.  The narrator wants the listener to find someone that will be the for you and never leave your side.  9/10

4) Take You High: This song was written by "MoZella" who co-wrote "Miley Cyrus'" hit single, "Wrecking Ball".  Kelly has mentioned that this song, as well as "Dance with Me", is set to have some remixes in the future so maybe this will be a single in the future.  9/10

5) Piece by Piece: The title track.  Kelly said that the song is the most personal song on the album.  The song talks about her relationship with father and later in the song she mentions how her husband restored her faith in good men.  Amazing song and one of my favorites.  10/10

6) Run Run Run (featuring John Legend): The song is an amazing ballad and it was originally recorded by "Tokio Hotel".  Kelly had no idea about that but thankfully the band isn't angry.  Regardless of which version is better, the song is still great.  9/10

7) I Had a Dream: In this song Kelly tells the listener to follow their dreams and not to lose their worth or self respect.  Very empowering and inspiring.  9/10

8) Let Your Tears Fall: Like "Invincible", "Sia" co-wrote this song as well.  It was the first song recorded for the album.  The song about telling your lover that they can cry on your should and you won't judge them because you love them.  In a way it could be a part two to Kelly's single, "Dark side" because it sounds like the person is crying after confessing their past but you accept them for who they are.  Hopefully it'll be a single.  10/10

9) Tightrope: Like "Run Run Run", this song is a piano ballad.  It showcases Kelly's amazing vocals.  Beautiful song.  9/10

10) War Paint: This song is about letting your guard down for the one you love.  I thought it was dull and boring at first, but it's growing on me.  8/10

11) Dance with Me: The song was used in a promo for "Dancing with the Stars" and was also supposed to be on Kelly's greatest hits album, "Greatest Hits - Chapter One".  The song is still growing on me because it still sounds kinda boring.  6/10

12) Nostalgic: When I saw the tracklisting I thought that I'd hate this song but instead it was the complete opposite.  The song has an '80's vibe to it, it's fun to dance to, and it's one of my favorites on the album.  It makes me happy.  10/10

13) Good Goes the Goodbye: This is my favorite song on the album.  The song is about a relationship coming to an end.  Apparently the song was originally a country demo, I believe that and hope that a country version of the song gets released one day.  I also hope this song becomes a single.  10/10

14) Bad Reputation: The next three songs are on the deluxe edition.  Despite this song's title, it's not a cover of "Joan Jett's" hit of the same name.  It is an original song in which Kelly tells a man not to tell anyone about them because if anyone finds out about them it'll ruin her reputation.  The song's got a good beat to it.  9/10

15) In the Blue: This song is a ballad.  It's okay, but it's still growing on me.  8/10

16) Second Wind: The music to this song is strange.  It also distracts the vocals and the lyrics to me.  It's sad cause the lyrics are amazing.  6/10

I'm gonna be honest, when I first heard the album I thought it sucked and wondered why Kelly made it.  Thankfully I listened to the album more and it's pretty good.  The album debuted at number 1 in the U.S.  Kelly's second album to do that, her first album to that was "All I Ever Wanted" back in 2009.  My favorite songs are: "Good Goes the Goodbye", "Let Your Tears Fall", "Piece by Piece", "Nostalgic", and "Bad Reputation".  Out of 160 points I give the album 140 points which is 87%, a B+.  Awesome job Kelly.  Thank you reading my review!
